Michael “DIVA” Valdivia

Hello Everyone, my name is Michael “DIVA” Valdivia, and I am a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force where I have served for more than 15 years. Currently, I am stationed at Offutt Air Force Base outside of Omaha, Nebraska, home of United States Strategic Command. I grew up in the East Bay of San Francisco, California in a town called Castro Valley. I loved growing up there and am proud to be from such a cool place. I am blessed to have an incredible dad and mom who raised me to work hard, to always keep reaching for your goals, and to love your family with all your heart. They were always there for me, and continue to be every step of my journey in life. My time in the service gives me the wonderful opportunity to live in other places, and after the other places that have become my family’s “home for now” we hope to head back to one of those places to make it our home for good. Speaking of family, I am married to a wonderful partner and my best friend, Sarah. We share our love with our wonderful son Clayton. He truly is the shining light of our hearts. I love spending time with both Sarah and Clay, making my life whole. We also have a crazy and rambunctious 10-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer named Cholula. She is a handful, but she is an incredible addition to our family. My favorite time spent with Cholula is taking her on long walks.

While the Air Force has been great for me and our family, and I truly love to serve, it does not define who I am as a person. I have many other interests and hobbies that take up a lot of my time and energy. I love working with my hands, whether out in the yard working on landscaping or building things in the garage, having a project makes me happy. I always have a couple of projects going at any given time. Another huge passion of mine is sports. I love both watching and playing sports, and being as active as possible. I call Raider Nation home and I am so proud to be a season ticket holder. Win, Lose, or Tie, Raiders until I die! Another huge passion of mine is increasing my financial literacy. I love to talk about the subject and plan to write blog posts on the topic. I love making lists for everything to stay organized, everything has a place, and most importantly, tidiness is key for my well-being. I like to collect bourbon, or enjoy a good stout, and sitting around a firepit with friends and a cigar is my type of scene. After a little liquid courage, I have been known to get down on the dance floor.  I am so excited to get this next chapter in our lives going. I am so happy Sarah and I have started Cura Complete. We have a vision and a purposeful commitment to helping and connecting with people by sharing our lives and experiences with others. Our goal is to grow in a community of positive energy and help people reach their goals too.
